All of our resources first belong to God who has entrusted each of us with stewardship of those resources. Efficiency, transparency and accountability must always be the abiding pillars of our stewardship philosophy. We are accountable to God and to you as donors.

Find out where your donations go…

Not sure where your donation can be best used? You can also donate to our general fund, and we’ll make sure your gift is used where it is needed most. We will  be asked, “How much of  donor money invested with LifeLift will actually be used for projects?” It’s a good question.

LifeLift International is a California based Christian 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, incorporated in 2004 as Ascend Ministries dba LifeLift International, Since one of our objectives is to help struggling communities in Africa reach a level of self-sustainability, LifeLift International must lead by example and also achieve self-sustainability. This means a certain amount of giving must be dedicated to cover administrative overhead.

Our intent is to follow guidelines established by the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) and to become a member as soon as our budget allows. ECFA has established guidelines that we will follow to stay within guidelines of percentages of project giving to be set aside for administration. As our ministry grows, economies of scale should allow us to reduce administration overhead relative to project budgets.

Currently no LifLift International board member or staff receives any financial compensation. It is likely we will need to hire paid office staff in the future as we grow. Again, any salaries or wages will fall under the guidelines of ECFA. Also, as with other non-profit ministries, our tax returns and other administrative data will be accessible at http://www.guidestar.org.

Any administrative surpluses in our General Fund will be distributed to support projects we determine them to be the most in need.
