Miu, Kenya
We met Pastor Francis Nzuba in 2007. His people were starving due to lack of water and food. There was nothing he could do for them, except of course pray. God then provided resources for LifeLift International to drill a water well (borehole) at the site of Pastor Nzuba’s church in the village of Miu, near Machakos in central eastern Kenya, an arid spot where we had been advised not to drill. It was believed no well water could be found near Miu. Water was found at 151 meters depth. It was “… sweet and plentiful.” Land was then donated to the church and irrigated to grow a produce farm next to the church. This borehole & produce farm was subsequently given access to municipal electricity by the local Minister of Parliament, (MP) Muoki. In what was previously a ghost-town, Miu has re-emerged as a marketplace, center of commerce, and a source of indigenous missionary outreach from Pastor Nzuba’s church, which has grown to several times its previous size.
